ProjectCHAKRA is on a mission to revolutionize education by providing immersive learning experiences that foster empathy and empower young people to create positive social impact, earning them the well-deserved recognition of winning Social Enterprise StartUp of the Year at the South East StartUp Awards 2023

Anand was only 17 when his service and entrepreneurial journey started. Participating in a service-based leadership programme in India opened his eyes to a world of possibility and inspired him to be part of a social enterprise at university, which supported the local homeless community. His experience on a United Nations Development Programme placement in India further solidified his dedication to creating positive social impact

Anand reflected on how fortunate he was to have access to opportunities that ignited his passion for social entrepreneurship at a young age. He realised that for many of his peers who shared the same interests, these life-changing experiences were out of reach. Determined to make a difference, Anand founded ProjectCHAKRA in 2019 to provide young people with immersive learning experiences that cultivate empathy, broaden aspirations and open up new career pathways in social impact.

Through simulation role-play and gamification, ProjectCHAKRA brings real-world challenges into the classroom. Their programmes help students develop emotional intelligence and gain exposure to fields like international development. Anand is most excited to run longer-form Social Leadership Programmes in India where participants can experience transformative personal and professional growth.

ProjectCHAKRA has built strong partnerships with universities, corporates and community organisations across the UK and India. They plan to deepen these relationships by offering more programmes and expanding internationally into the US and Europe.

Anand was humbled when ProjectCHAKRA won the Startup Awards 2023. The recognition validates their mission and will help amplify their important work.
