GLORIAH, the Edinburgh-based disruptors of menopause care, rise as shining stars in the start-up world, securing the Rising Star Award at the Scotland StartUp Awards 2023 for their empowering approach to menopausal products

Jessica Watson and Isla Telfer are two inspiring entrepreneurs on a mission to disrupt the menopause space. In 2021, the duo founded GLORIAH, an Edinburgh-based company that manufactures and sells intimate care products for menopausal women.

Watson and Telfer were motivated to start their business after a close friend went through surgical menopause at the young age of 25. They quickly realized that the products available were outdated, medical-looking, and did little to empower women. They set out to make a change and launched GLORIAH to provide high-quality, natural products with stylish packaging aimed at making women feel good during this transition.

Since launching, GLORIAH has seen exciting growth and accomplished much in a short time. The company focuses on innovative new product launches, expanding into new markets and distribution channels, building their brand through educational content and community events. Watson and Telfer have ambitious plans for the future as they continue developing amazing products to disrupt the menopause space and create a positive impact.

The founders were thrilled to win the Startup Awards 2023. While working remotely on the Isle of Tiree, Watson and Telfer were shocked to learn of their win through an Instagram post by a friend attending the awards ceremony. As Watson describes,

“Sometimes you feel like such a small fish, working away without much indication of ‘you’re doing well’ or ‘people love this.’”

The public recognition provided a much-needed boost of confidence and validation in their mission.

Through passion, perseverance, and a desire to empower women, Watson and Telfer built GLORIAH into an inspiring brand.
