Domino Clamps: Making the most of shipping containers

Justin Beardsell founded Domino Clamps in 2017 to solve a problem he frequently encountered while setting up infrastructure at outdoor events. Specifically, the independent entrepreneur often found it would be useful to attach lighting and structures to shipping containers without causing damage, but he couldn’t find an effective off-the-shelf solution. After a particularly challenging job in the scorching sun, he was determined to create a solution. Two years later, Domino Clamps became available to the world.

Domino Clamps are devices that allow anyone to attach almost anything to the outside of a shipping container without damaging the container. Developed over a two year period and manufactured here in the UK, Domino Clamps now help businesses and individuals worldwide in making better use of their shipping containers.

The future is bright for the company. Justin plans to continue expanding their range of accessories and kits to help people attach specific items to containers, a process which is always driven by the customers themselves.

He looks forward to the day he accidentally stumbles across one of the clamps attached to a container out in the world.

Winning a 2023 Startup Award meant a great deal to Justin and his team, including his parents who work with the company, and who were on hand to accept the trophy at the awards evening. Justin said he was “chuffed to bits” not just for himself but for everyone who supported them throughout their journey to bring Domino Clamps to market. From an inspiration born out of frustration to an award-winning product enabling the reuse of shipping containers worldwide, Domino Clamps’ story proves how one person’s vision can transform into something that benefits many.
