A Caring Prescription for Your Wellbeing: Your Health and Care

Glenda Devlin is a Social Work and MBA graduate who has dedicated over 30 years of her career to improving health and social care. In 2019, she founded Your Health and Care Ltd and created Peggi, an award-winning digital application aiming to reduce loneliness and improve wellbeing.

Glenda was inspired to develop Peggi after witnessing her aunt Peggy struggle with dementia and become increasingly isolated. Glenda created photo books and used reminiscence therapy to reconnect with her aunt. She saw firsthand how powerful stimulating memories could be. Glenda believed technology could provide a solution to connect vulnerable populations with loved ones around the world.

Peggi provides long-term storage of photos, videos and messages that enable private sharing and reminiscence. The layout makes it easy to create life stories and share specific events or memories with loved ones. Peggi aims to leave a legacy by capturing and preserving meaningful moments.

Glenda secured £130k in pre-seed investment and is focused on proof of concept to raise more funds. Peggi is in final beta testing, and Glenda aims to raise additional investment by year-end. The goal is for Peggi to have global reach, become integral to health care and provide an alternative to social media by enabling private connections that reduce loneliness and boost wellbeing. Care homes are even testing “Peggi time” for residents to connect with loved ones.

Glenda is excited to create something that supports seniors and embraces new technology. Peggi is simple to use without distractions, and it has the potential to grow with AI and new features for all generations. Winning a Startup Award in 2023 was a surprise and validation for Glenda. The accolade boosted her belief in Peggi and motivation to continue the challenging journey of a startup.

With her caring vision and dedication, Glenda aspires to transform how we share memories, connect privately with loved ones and enhance wellbeing through the power of reminiscence. Peggi is a prescription to combat loneliness and isolation so people can live happier, healthier lives.
